Slacker.

Alright, so I'm getting back on the blogging train. It's been a long while, but I'm going to do it...I swear. A quick recap of the last 7 months - Marley got sat up, she got teeth, she got more teeth, she crawled, she started eating human foods, she stood up, and now she's walking. The end. If you need more details you can visit my other blog/updates that come with photos on http://thejarvaisfamily.shutterfly.com/

With that said, I'll soon be updating my blog page...why? Because I have ADD and I need to start new projects all the time!

Stay tuned. More to come!

The Holiday Line-Up

December 20th - Addy's 1st Birthday
Addy Peel, our little peanut, turned one. The Harvie's and the Peel's came over to our house to celebrate! It was perfect! Nice and lay low. We had pizza, dessert and then the kids settled in watching Polar Express in their PJ's. Happy Birthday Addyson!

December 23rd - Farmview's Holiday Party (Stella & Marley's Daycare)The party was a hit. There was tons of delicious food...and wine for the parents! Any party is better with wine. Half way through the party, the kids had a visit from Santa (ho-ho as Stella calls him), and Mrs. Claus. Stella waited so patiently for her name to be called so she could see him. At the end, all of the kids from daycare sang Jingle Bells, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town and they sang and signed, We Wish You A Merry Christmas. It was priceless. Stella took front row and sang louder than everyone else!

December 24th - Christmas Eve at Grandma & Papa's
We headed up to Skowhegan to celebrate with all of the aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. It's amazing how full that house is! All of the kids were great and enjoyed opening all of the gifts. Santa visited the house. Stella and Marley loved it. Carlie did not. The kids were great - but Stella got tired and hit the hay early. She finished opening gifts the next morning. Marley was spoiled!

December 26th - Christmas at Our House
We got up bright and early to celebrate Christmas with just myself, Kregg, Stella and Marley. Again the girls were spoiled! And Stella still wasn't that into opening gifts. Marley just sat back and observed!

December 27th - Christmas at Our House with My Family
Is it almost over yet? It was Christmas after Christmas after Christmas. My family came down and the kids had a blast again! But honestly, I think I was more excited when everyone left. It was far too many Christmases...and far too much work!

Naughty or Nice?

Maybe "naughty" isn't the right word.  Maybe "nice" isn't the right word either.  But as Christmas approaches, now only 5 days away, it makes you wonder what Santa meant when he said "I'm making a list, checking it twice, gonna find out who's naughty or nice."  Both of our children are as sweet as can be, or "nice" if you want to call it that.  But.... our explorer, our instigator, our little miss independent...WOW, she's got some devilish qualities (aka Naughty qualities)!  And Marley's not off the hook just yet, I think she's too young at this point...but both Kregg and I are scared.  Something tells me we will have our hands full.  Either way, check out these photos.  You tell me, which one would show up on the naughty list, which one would show up on the nice list?

"Treat".

"Treat", that's it.  That's all Stella said when she got up to the doors.  She can say "Trick or Treat", but then realized that it was much easier saying "Treat", since that's what she wanted!  Every time someone would put candy in Stella's bag, she'd pull it back out and inspect it.  If it was something she liked, she'd put it back in and rush off to the next house.  She even made herself cozy in one neighbors house by walking right in the front door to their living room to check out their pumpkins.  She was a trooper!  She absolutely loved it.  We couldn't get her out of her bumble bee costume.  Marley, on the other hand,  could have cared less about her chili pepper costume (which she only lasted in about 2 seconds), hence the reason I don't have any photos of her.  She actually preferred staying in with Grandma and Papa and watching the kids trick or treat.  Needless to say, Halloween was a blast!

The Original "Boogie" Turns 3.

Brady just turned 3.  And, like always, he made a big splash doing so.  We celebrated at the South Portland Recreation Center pool.  As you can see, it was mostly the men hopping in the pool this time of year.  The kids loved it.  I swear Stella may turn into a fish....perhaps Nemo, since he's her favorite!

SURPRISE! (you ain't kiddin')

If any of you know my husband, you know he can't keep a secret. Surprisingly, he did.  It was probably the only one he's kept his entire life.  So needless to say,  Columbus Day weekend Steph and I had no idea what we were in for!

In September our family and friends got together and threw us each our own separate 30th surprise birthday party (although mine wasn't much of a surprise).  End of story, right?  Wrong!  Here's how it all played out:

Keith mentions Megan has a gift card to a restaurant in Naples.  It's about 20 minutes from our house.  Apparently our group of friends are all invited and we are going to put the gift card towards our meal.

Fine....sounds good!  Kregg and I are in.

We meet at my house to head to the restaurant Friday night.  Before we leave, Quin mentions checking out a house that we may rent next summer for a group vacation.

Fine....sounds good!  Kregg and I are in.  We'll do a drive by before heading to the restaurant.

Of course as we're all driving  to go eat, the boys HAVE to ride together.  God forbid they ride with their wives.  So now it's Steph and I in the car.  We chat the whole way there and as we approach the restaurant, we notice it's closed.  We immediately hop on the phone and call Keith.  "Megan got screwed," we tell him.  He assures us they will get to the bottom of it, either way we'll plan on having dinner together and watching the Sox playoff game!

Meanwhile we continue to follow them to the lake house.  We get out and head in.  Inside they have decorated it with birthday notes, signs, pumpkins, beer, wine, and more beer.  It was awesome.  I still didn't really know what was going on at this point.  It honestly took me a good 20 minutes to put everything together!  (yes, I know I'm blonde)  Apparently they had rented this lake house (which sleeps 8 couples comfortably), for the entire weekend.  And that was just the start.....

Steph and I continued to enjoy the rest of the weekend with all of our friends.  We watched a photo movie they put together for us, played games, enjoyed the weather, watched some football, had family out to visit, ate a ton and drank a ton.  I won't go into specifics, but let's just say the weekend wasn't as mild as this blog makes it sound.

We were sad to see the weekend wrap up, but it just confirms how great of friends and family we have.  Thanks guys!  Thanks hubbies!  Nice work!  I can't believe you are all such good liars! It was a WONDERFUL weekend!

Apple Pickin'

We had so much fun apple picking last year with the Harvie's, we decided to do it again...and this time we expanded our group.  Lynn and Addy were able to join the fun.

Unlike last year, this year it was quite warm!  I think a few of us got sunburned!  The kids really enjoyed picking their own apples, and Stella enjoyed taking a bite of every apple she put in her bag!  It was another wonderful day spent with great friends!

I can't wait for next year!

Marley Brooke Has Arrived!

Marley Brooke has finally joined us.  Only two days after my due date, she came into this world full speed ahead...and I mean, full speed ahead.  Unlike Stella (4 hours of pushing), Marley was determined to show us how different she'd be from her big sister (4 minutes of pushing).  Due to the fast delivery, Marley suffered some minor facial bruising.

She arrived on September 4th, 2008 at 7:35 AM.  Weighing 8lbs., 3oz. and 21 inches long.  While not terribly small, she was a peanut compared to her sister!

Kregg and I are thrilled to be blessed with another beautiful baby girl.  She's precious!
